Irwin (Bud) Baldwin aged 96 of Newaygo, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, December 17, 2002.

He had attended and been a part of the First Baptist Church of Newaygo since 1969.

He resided in the Oak Grove area until 1924 when he went to Grand Rapids. He worked there for 26 years, most of that time for the McInerney Spring and Wire Co. He was the Product Engineer, in charge of the Drafting Room and the Sample Dept, but for health reasons he left there in 1950 and came to Brooks Lake, he built 4 rental cottages and operated a summer resort known as Bud's Place for 17 years.

He was co-owner and developer of property on Brooks Lake which is now Baldwin Park Plat, he also worked as a self employed carpentar.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Bernita on October 23, 1993, a sister Marie Nelson in 1984, a brother, James Baldwin in 1993 and a sister, Evah Bailard Alto.

He leaves to mourn, his daughters, Betty & Robert Harshman of Warsaw, Indiana and Bonita Lessard of Newaygo. 8 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren and several Great Great Grandchildren. Three step daughters Shirlee Stover of Holton, Mary & William Lockery of Newaygo and Jacqui Winks of Grand Rapids. 10 Step-Grandchildren, 14 Step Great Grandchildren, nephews, neices and a host of loving friends.

Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Newaygo on Friday, December 20, 2002 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Richard J. Stoll officiating. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Arrangements by the McKinley Funeral Home in Newaygo where relatives and friends may meet with the family on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Newaygo, American Cancer Society, or Hospice of Michigan - Newaygo County.
