Mr. Kenneth G. Brott, Age 77 of Newaygo,went to be with his Lord, whom he loved and served, Thursday, July 31, 2003 after a short battle with cancer. He born Kenneth Glen Brott September 6, 1925,in Newaygo, the son of Sadie (Alverson and Everett Brott.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Millie and their children Sue & Lee Black of Newaygo, Carl & Kathleen Brott of Fremont, Norman & Cathy Brott of Hudsonville, Alvin Brott (and very special friend Sara) of Newaygo, 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandsons, his sister Lela Grossman of Grant and Marian & Woodrow Carr of Muskegon.

Being one of nine children, many nieces and nephews, Ken was a "people" person and could make friends instantly with his good humor and his conversational skills. He retired in 1986 after 25 years as maintenance supervisor with Newaygo Public Schools. Ken enjoyed woodworking, camping, fishing, and gardening, along with being with his children, family and his many friends. Ken was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newaygo all of his adult life serving as deacon, Sunday School teacher, and other service to the Lord. Ken's love of life, storytelling, interesting jingles and phrases, moral integrity, and Christian love and values will be his legacy to his children and family.

After cremation a Memorial service will be held at 1:00 P. M. from the First Baptist Church, Newaygo on Saturday, August 2, 2003 with Pastor Richard Stoll & Pastor Wesley Smith officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers the family asks to please consider a memorial contribution in Ken's name to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, Newaygo First Responders, and Hospice of Michigan of West Michigan.
