Mr. Russell K. Wildfong, Age 95 of Grant, Michigan died Friday, July 04, 2003 in Ashland Twp. He was born Russell K. Wildfong in Grant, MI the son of Eva (Wheeler) and Samuel Wildfong on May 18, 1908. He married Velma H. Osborn on March 25, 1932 in Ypsilanti, Michigan and she preceded him in death on April 27, 1987. The first of his German ancestors came to this country in 1734. He was a machine repairman for various factories in Muskegon until his retirement. He attended the First Baptist Church of Newaygo. He was an Auctioneer at many lcal farm sales attending auctioneering school in 1940 in Indiana. He and his wife Velma lived in the Grant area until her death and they enjoyed many winter seasons in Florida.

He is survived by his daughters Marjory Bitson of Boca Raton, FL, Connie & David Dougan of Grant, 5 grandchildren Susan Grimm, Doug Bitson, Tracy Schneiter, Mary Eaton, Brenda Jefferis, 10 great-grandchildren, his brother Bernard & Eunice Wildfong of Shelby, sister Alice Baker of Newaygo, numerous nieces & nephews and good friend Eleanor Shears of Grant.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P. M. from the First Baptist Church in Newaygo on Monday, July 7, 2003 with Pastor Richard Stoll & Pastor Wesley Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Ashland Center Cemetery near Grant. Visitation will be held prior to services 12-1 P. M. Monday. For memorials please consider Hospice of Michigan of Newaygo Co.
