Mr. Donald Powers, age 84 of Fremont, Formerly of Newaygo, died Wednesday, September 23, 2004 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility near Fremont. He was born Donald Powers in Hart, the son of Mary (Platt) and George William Powers on February 13, 1920. He married Deborah Dart on July 27, 1941 in Batle Creek, Michigan and she preceded him in death on September 18, 2004. He was a Owner/Operator of Powers Clothing Store for 40 years. He was a member of Fremont Congregational Church U. C. C.. He was a member of Masonic Lodge Newaygo; Newaygo Lion's Club & Chamber of Commerce; Delta Sigma Phi & Newaygo School Board.

He is survived by his children David & Charylene Powers of Rockford, Douglas & Diane Powers of Fremont, Daniel & Carol Powers of Grand Haven, Mary & Gregory Slominski of Newaygo, Michael & Amy Powers of Manistique, 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, his brother Virgil Powers of Hart.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A. M from the Fremont Congregational Church U. C. C., on Saturday, September 25, 2004 with Rev. Raymond Dekker officiating. Visitation will be held 7-9 P. M.
