Mrs. Doris J. Robinson, age 89 of Grant, died Monday, April 5, 2004 at Fountainview Retirement Village in Grant. She was born Doris Jane Hoek in Allendale, Michigan the daughter of Tena (Vander Naald) and John Hoek on March 17, 1915. She married Earl Lester Robinson on August 23, 1940 in Allendale, and he preceded her in death on February 5, 1997. She was a Cook for Grant Hospital for 26 years until 1976. She was a member of Grant Reformed Church, Newaygo County Farm Bureau and the Women's Auxillary of Gideon International. She also played the organ for the McKinley Funeral Home in Grant for 27 years.

She is survived by her sons Kenneth Robinson & friend Pat Taylor of Newaygo, David & Lynne Robinson of Grant, Thomas & Susan Robinson of Pella, IA, 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, her brother Herman & Elaine Hoek, her sisters-in-law Elizabeth Hoek, Arlene Hoek, Hilda Hoek, Ione Robinson, Mildred Burman, Lillie & Harold Hart, Virginia & Bill Sorensen, and several nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A M from the Grant Reformed Church, on Thursday, April 8, 2004 with Pastor James Karsten officiating. Interment will be in the Ashland Center Cemetery near Grant. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 7-9 P. M. Wednesday at the McKinley Grant Chapel.
