Mrs. Helen A. Bolthouse, age 91 of Bakersfield, CA, formerly of Grant & Cedar Springs, now enjoys the presence of her Savior, having left her family and friends on Saturday, February 14, 2004. She was born Helen Adeline Humphreys in Casnovia, MI the daughter of Jennie (Adeline) and John Humphreys on August 7, 1912. Helen delighted in entertaining friends, church members and family, with her own family being the light of her life. She married William H. Bolthouse on January 11, 1938 in Casnovia, Michigan. Helen and her husband William experienced great joy in their support of Christian missions and ministries around the world, especially in the country of Brazil and here in Michigan at Lake Ann Baptist Camp, near Traverse City. She earned her teaching certificate from Western Michigan University. She faithfully supported her husband in the developing years of Wm. Bolthouse Farms, Inc., both in Michigan and California as well as the homemaker. Helen, and now William, resided at the Rosewood Retirement Community in Bakersfield for the last several years. She was a member of the Blythfield Hills Baptist Church, Rockford, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents John & Jennie Humphreys, brother John Humphreys and sister Nellie Emeric.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, William H. Bolthouse, her children William & Nora Bolthouse of Bakersfield, CA, Carol & Jack Cole of Ludington, Esther & Dr. William F. Clark of Coto DeCaza, CA, 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A M from the McKinley Grant Chapel, on Saturday, February 21, 2004 with Rev. Louie Konopka officiating.
