Mrs. Roberta L. Countryman, age 77 of Newaygo, died Saturday, October 9, 2004 at Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont. She was born Roberta Louise Brown in Dayton, OH the daughter of Veda May (Woolley) and Guy Edward Brown on March 15, 1927 and came to the Newaygo area at Pettit Lake in 1985 after retirement. She married Robert Le Roy Countryman on May 28, 1947 in Dayton, Ohio and he preceded her in death on September 27, 2000. She was a Homemaker all her life. She was a member of Newaygo County Sportsman's Club; Newaygo Unity Chapter #61 O. E. S.; and the VFW Post #4249 Auxiliary.

She is survived by her cousin Jo Anne Sutton & family of Dayton, OH, her special friends Chris & Ed Haynor, Mark & Maxine Engle of Newaygo, Bill & Dorie Traxler of Sparta and many other friends.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A. M from the McKinley Newaygo Chapel, on Saturday, October 16, 2004 with VFW Post #4249 Auxiliary Chaplain Garnet Abbott and Auxiliary President Patricia Fish officiating.
