Mr. Rodney H. Herron, Sr., age 52 of Newaygo, died Friday, January 16, 2004 in Grand Rapids. He was born Rodney Howard Herron, Sr. in Tuscaloosa, AL the son of Virginia Margot (Fowler) and Howard Eugene Herron on April 5, 1951. He married Vickey Louise Grant on February 20, 1995 in Clear Lake Oaks, CA. He was a Deputy Sheriff for Lake Co., CA until 1985, a member of the Clear Lake Oaks, CA Moose Lodge and a Clear Lake Oaks, CA volunteer fireman.

He is survived by his wife Vickey Herron, his children Rodney & Lori Herron, Jr of Bartlesville, OK, Craig & Tonya Herron of Reno, NV, Mattie & Michael Alexander of Grand Rapids, Gary & Ann Ranger of Lower Lake, CA, John & Eddie Herron both of Newaygo, 8 grandchildren, his brother & sister Randy Herron of AZ, Yvonne & Ricky Valles of CA, parents-in-law Lee & Lou Grant of Newaygo.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A M from the McKinley Newaygo Chapel, Monday, January 19, 2004 with Rev. Hollis Phillips officiating. Interment will be in the Newaygo Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 P. M. Sunday. For Memorials please consider the family.
