Mr. Russell L. Hoover, age 88 of Sand Lake, died Thursday, April 14, 2005 at the Pinewood Foster Care Home near Whitehall. He was born Russell LeRoy Hoover in Ensley Twp. Newaygo Co., Michigan, the son of Goldie Frances (Lytle) and William Arthur Hoover on January 20, 1917. He married Iris Irene Packard Evans on July 30, 1960 in Stanton, Michigan and she preceded him in death on May 3, 1986. He then married Pearl V. Krull on November 21, 1987 in Rothbury, Michigan and she preceded him in death on October, 2004. He was in Maintenance for General Motors, Grand Rapids, retiring in 1982 after 27 years.
He is survived by his children Roland & Marilyn Evans of Sand Lake, Bob & Sunday Evans of Fruitport, Jeanette & Dennis Burke of Sand Lake, Arthur Hoover of New Mexico, his 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and his brother-in-Law Vernon Hyde of Sparta.
He was a decorated combat veteran of WW2, and a life long member of the South Ensley United Methodist Church, at Ensley Center, where his memorial services will take place on Saturday, April 23, 2005, at 11:00 A. M.. There will be no visitation. For Memorials please consider the South Ensley United Methodist Church.

Hello, Im not even quite sure that you would recieve this since Mr. Hoover pased away in April. I'm sure you dont know who I am because I dont know you. I have two books have the name "russell L. Hoover" on an ownership sticker on the inside front cover. The books are from 1946 and are poems and tales of edgar allen poe, and collected poems by walt whittman. Please forgive me, I know you have suffered a terrible loss.
