Mr. Virgil G. Bonter, age 88 of Kent City died Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at Fountainview Retirement Village in Grant.  He was born Virgil Glen Bonter in Ravenna, the son of Selma (Dahl) and Arba Bonter on April 24, 1916.  He married Edna M. Finley on April 20, 1940 in Kent City.  He was a welder for Shaw Walker in Muskegon until his retirement in 1981. He was a member of Kent City Baptist Church.

He is survived by his Wife Edna Bonter of Kent City, his Son Allen & Cindy Bonter of Kent City, his grandchildren Nelson & Lindy Bonter of Alto and Chani & Jason Ellick of Kent City, his great-granddaughter Sedona Bonter, his sisters Fern & Owen Hallberg of Newaygo, Phyllis Bonter of Bailey, Leota & Leroy Scott of Norton Shores, his brother Richard Bonter & Carol of Ravenna, his brother-in-law Everett Webb of Bailey, sisters-in-law Beverly Bonter of Avon Park, FL, and Beverly Finley of Grant and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. from the Kent City Baptist Church on Friday, January 28, 2005 with Rev. Josh Fisher officiating. Interment will be in the Chubbuck-Pinewood Cemetery Kent City. Visitation will be held 7-9 PM Thursday at McKinley Grant Chapel.  For Memorials please consider the Kent City Baptist Church Building Fund.
