Mr. Arthur Christian Nelsen, Age 88 of Grant, died Friday, August 11, 2006 in Grant.  He was born Arthur Christian Nelsen in Grant, Michigan the son of Marie Metta (Espersen)  and Gustave August Nelsen on April 01, 1918. He married Virginia Faith Johnson on November 20, 1980 in Kent City and she preceded him in death on October 21, 2001.  He was a Self employed dairy farmer.  He was a member of Mamrelund Lutheran Church-Kent City. He was a member of the Commission on Aging Board; Ashland Grange; Newaygo County Soil Conservation District; Newaygo County Historical Society and he was a former Newaygo County Commissioner.  He is survived by his foster Daughter Sara Somerville of Grand Rapids; his foster granddaughters Karen Atwood; Stacy Somerville; and Lynn Somerville; his foster great grandsons Justin & Isaac; his brother Robert & Helen Nelsen of Grant; his brother in law Warren & Marilyn Johnson of Florida; his sister in law Ethel & Edwin Bristol of Comstock Park; and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM from the Mamrelund Lutheran Church, Kent City on Tuesday, August 15, 2006 with Rev.
