Mrs. Dorothy Jane Smith, 81, born on April 3, 1925 passed away on July 31, 2006.  She was born Dorothy Jane Drake in Grant, Michigan the daughter of Emma (Hogan) and Clayton Drake.  She married William Richard Smith on May 28, 1942 in Grant, Michigan.  She was a Homemaker all her life.  She attended Cedar Creek Covenant Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband Wm. Richard Smith and baby daughter Rebecca Charlene.  She is survived by her children Wm. "Clayton" & Eleanor Smith of Fremont; Dorothy "Jane" & Raymond Drake of Holton; Dianna Lynn and Emily Smith of Grant; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 3 sisters; 1 brother and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM from the McKinley Funeral Home Grant Chapel, Grant on Monday, August 07, 2006 with Pastor Bob Wood officiating.  Interment in Bridgeton cemetery.  Visitation 7-9 PM Sunday at the funeral home.  For memorials, please consider the Heartland Hospice.
