Mrs. Ella  Newhouse, age 88 of Hudsonville and formerly of Newaygo,  died Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at the Laurels of Hudsonville.  She was born Ella Smalligan in Fremont,  the daughter of Jennie  (Lambers) and Jake Smalligan on July 22, 1917.  She married Willard Vander Moere and he preceded her in death.  She then married Adrian J. Newhouse on May 5, 1982 in Grant, Michigan.  She was in Accounting for Motor Wheel in Lansing, until her retirement in 1972.  She was a member of the Reformed Church of America.  

She is survived by her husband Adrian Newhouse of Jenison;  her step daughters Marcia & Dwight Bull of Newaygo and Connie & Jim Visser of Hudsonville; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and her brother Earl & Carol Smalligan of Fremont. 

Memorial funeral services  will be held at 2:00 P. M. from the Grant Reformed Church on Monday, June 12, 2006 with Pastor David Brower officiating.  Interment will be at the Parkview Cemetery in Grant  The family will meet relatives and friends one hour prior to the service.  For memorials please consider the Talking Bible International, 419 E.
