Mr. Elmer R. Dunn, age 79 of Newaygo, died Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at Metron in Belding. He was born Elmer Richard Dunn in Newaygo, the son of Leida (Reeves) and Ernest Dunn on December 6, 1926. He was a Carpenter for Pioneer Restoration until retiring in 1988. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4249 of Newaygo. He was a veteran having served in the Navy during World War II from April 27, 1944 to April 28, 1946 when he was discharged as a Shipfitter 3/c.
He survived by his brother Leon "Dick" & Joyce Dunn of Fremont, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Karen Whitzman in 2001.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P. M. from the VFW Post #4249-Newaygo, Newaygo, on Saturday, March 25, 2006 with the VFW Chaplain officiating. There will be no visitation. Please sign the online guest book at
