Mrs. Olive Boyd, aged 85, a lifelong resident of Newaygo County, died May 29 at Adrian, Michigan. She was born September 20, 1939 in Ensley Township, the youngest child of Abram Wallace Jones and Florence M. (Shattuck) Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Laurence Arthur Boyd, her parents, her sister Lucy Woodman, brothers Raymond "Jack" Jones, Robert "Bob" Jones, her twin brother Oliver who died at birth, and one son, Thomas Dean Boyd who died at age 3.

Olive is survived by 2 sons, Laurence Arthur "Larry" and Kay Boyd II of Brooklyn, Michigan and James Michael "Mike" and Stella Boyd of Litchfield Park, AZ, as well as 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Olive retired from the Rockford warehouse of Wolverine Worldwide. She and Laurence were active in several historical organizations including the Newaygo Museum. They helped publish several township histories including Grant and Ensley. They also enjoyed the Old Fiddlers and traditional square dancing.

Memorial services will be held 1:00 P. M., Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at the McKinley Grant Chapel with her son Larry Boyd officiating. Interment will be in the Parkview Cemetery in Grant.
