Colleen Haynes passed suddenly and quickly on Friday, November 9th after battling lung cancer.  She was born on Feb 15, 1945 in Lansing Michigan and attended Manistee High School in Manistee, Michigan where she graduated in 1964.  Her interests included playing the flute in the band, leadership roles in student activities and cheerleading.  She attended Davenport Community College and earned an accounting degree.

            In 1967 she married Dan Radtke and joined him in an active duty assignment in the U.S. Air Force.  In 1973 they moved to Manassas and she remained there until 2005.

She held accounting positions with My Room Furniture, their real estate company and is remembered as owning the Cat House, a feline novelty store, in downtown Manassas for several years.  She then worked for TML Copiers for several years prior to moving to Newaygo, MI to be near family. 

            Colleen was a charter member of the Manassas Host Lioness Club and held various offices including Secretary, Treasurer, and President of the club.  She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. After moving to Newaygo Mi, she was active with Newaygo United Methodist Church.

            She is survived by her son, Derrick & wife Kathleen & grandson, Ridge, of Denver CO.; her Mother, Wilma Haynes of Manistee, MI; her sister, Connie Unzicker & husband Joe of Denver, CO; her nephew Lyle Haynes, wife Tamara and son Jack of Denver CO.; her aunt, Betty May of Phoenix AZ, and two cousins, Kim Callahan of Dillon, CO and Tom May of Bend, Oregon.

            A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. at Newaygo United Methodist Church in Newaygo, MI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Bellweather Foundation animal rescue (231) 924 9230 or Newaygo County Care for a Cause (231) 924 1102.

Collene is missed greatly. I miss her bright smile so much. Even when she didn't feel well she looked so radient. When she broke her leg, she had surgery and Pastor Pat and I went to see her, even then she looked amazing. She was glowing with God's love.... Kaittye Bidelman Newaygo UMC
