Mr. Donald W. Frey, age 78 of Bailey, died Monday, March 5, 2007 at son's home in Grand Rapids. He was born Donald Wilbur Frey in Ensley Twp., the son of Blanche Ella (Verburg) and Harry Wilbur Frey on August 21, 1928. He married Betty Jane Hoaglin on July 5, 1947 in Ensley Center. He was a Baker for Hilltop Bakery, Bailey for 30 years until 1988.

He is survived by his wife Betty Frey, his son Dale & Donna Frey of Grand Rapids, his daughters Norma Bonter of Grant, Diane Frey of Bailey, 8 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, his brothers & sisters Jean & Maynard Smith, Robert & Vera Frey all of Sand Lake, John & Rosie Frey of Grand Rapids, Richard & Eleanor Frey, Mary Ann & Rodney Misner, Jim & Sharon Frey, Maxine & Clarence Miller all of Sand Lake.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M from the McKinley Grant Chapel, on Friday, March 9, 2007 with Mr. Daren Penwell officiating. Interment will be in the Seaman Cemetery near Bailey. Sorry to hear about your lost of Don, he was a relly great guy and tough too. He was working at Alts farm when I was laying tie and he was expoxying the floor there. He was a very, very good ball player and I was proud to know him.

I regret not visiting uncle Don more. I know he often asked of me. I was talking to Diane just the other weekend at a wedding, I told her how I wanted to stop in sometime and see him. Strange how things work out I guess. I have a lot of memories of Uncle Don and Aunt Betty from when I was younger. He was always messing with me and playing jokes. My mother Michelle also spoke of how kind he was to her. Thank you for the memories, rest in peace.
