Mr. Russell Elmer Westgate, Age 89 of Baldwin, Michigan died Friday, November 30, 2007 in Grand Rapids. He was born Russell Elmer Westgate in Grand Rapids, Michigan the son of Beth Bertha Louise (White) and Elmore Wesley Westgate on January 15, 1918. He married Mary Eileen Moore on July 21, 1941 in Zeeland, Michigan and she preceded him in death on April 3, 1998. He was a owner/operator for R.E. Westgate Oil Co. until . He was a member of The Saladin Shrine; The Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his children Barb & Bill DeDinas of Marne; Kathy Roon of Walker; Daughter: Helen & Harold Leedy of Ada; Russell II & Patricia Westgate of Grand Rapids; Roger & Jean Westgate of Marne; Jennifer & Don VanderHoff of Bitely; Charles & Connie Westgate of Lowell; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; his sister Louise L. Ward of Lowell.  He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Eileen (Moore) Westgate and his sisters Alice V. VanDreumel and Almyre J. Matvichuk. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM from the McKinley Funeral Home Newaygo on Monday, December 3, 2007 with Pastor Lucky Fulton officiating. Interment in Big Prairie-Everett Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 2-4 & 7-9 PM Sunday. For memorials please consider Hospice of Michigan.
