Vera M. Yeatter – Boddy

Vera M. Yeatter - Boddy, 76, of Newaygo, formerly of Grant, was welcomed home to be with her Lord & Savior, Tuesday, April 15, 2008. Vera was born on July 5, 1931, in Newaygo, the daughter of August & Rose Hasted. She married Joseph R. Yeatter on August 6, 1951, & was a homemaker & mother of their five children. Following the death of her husband, Joe in 1989, she met & married Robert R. Boddy, Sr. on June 22, 1996. Vera enjoyed serving the Lord with her musical talents. She loved to sing, yodel, & play guitar with the Faith Gospel Team; also ministering in music at nursing homes & jamborees.  She was also an active member of Amazing Grace Acres Church of Bitley, playing the piano every Sunday, until her failing heath kept her from attending. She was preceded in death by her parents; August & Rose Hasted, her husband of 38 yrs.; Joseph R. Yeatter; grandson, Jason Baker; & stepson, Bob Boddy.

             A Homegoing Celebration for Vera will be held Friday, April 18 at Amazing Grace Acres Church (762 W. Woodland Park Dr. - Bitely, MI 49309), with Pastor Ross “Lucky Fulton, officiating. The family will greet friends and relatives Thursday, April 17 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McKinley funeral home (226 State Rd - Newaygo, MI  49337),  & one hour before the service at the church. A private graveside service will be held at the Hillside Cemetery in Grant. Memorial contributions may be given to Amazing Grace Acres Church.
