Mr. Robert J. Leys, age 68 of Grand Rapids, died Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at Metro Health Hospital in Wyoming. He was born Robert James Leys the son of Gertrude (Gertrude McClelland) and Peter Leys on March 4, 1940 in East Grand Rapids. He was a Machinist for Nucraft of Grand Rapids until 2008 retiring after 48 1/2 yrs. He was a Volunteer at the Veteran’s Home in Grand Rapids and was a former DJ for WYCE radio.
He is survived by his son Robert & Teresa Leys & grand-daughter Shayla Taylor of Ft. Myers, FL, his daughter Loralei & Harold Cummings & grandchildren Alisha, Neal & Harold Cummings Jr. all of Grant, his step-daughters Debbie Visser and grandson Bradley, Amy Visser and grand-daughter Ashley, & Brenda Schneider & grandson Joe, and his sister Kathleen Leys.
