Mrs. Patricia June
Smith, Age 82 of Woodview Apartments, Newaygo for the past 16 years
died Monday, April 20, 2009 in Fremont. She was born Patricia June Impens in
Grand Rapids, Michigan the daughter of Lena (Van Akkeren) and William Impens
on June 20, 1926. She married Richard C. Smith and he preceded her in death.
She and her husband owned the Hilltop Grocery at Hardy Dam until 1971. She
was a member of the Walter Howarth American Legion Post #381 Auxiliary for
25 continuous years. She is survived by her daughters Barbara & David Beebe
of Newaygo, Beverly & John Brazil of Tehachapica, CA, her son Daivd & Mindi
Smith of Rock Springs, TN, 6 grandchildren, and 3
great‑grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM from the
Woodview Apartments in Newaygo on Friday, April 24, 2009 with Rev. David
