Zobel, Charles Frederick Jr, 81, entered his new heavenly home on January 23.  While we rejoice for his gain, he will be greatly missed by his wife of 58 years, Lillian (Lovdahl) Zobel, children Christine (Tom) Kunst, Carol (Dave) Myszak, Carl (Kelli) Zobel, brother, Jack (Corky) Zobel (in CO), closest friends and brother/sister-in-law, Arne & Marilyn Fahlen, 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. 

 

Chuck, born August 27, 1927 in Chicago, IL, lived a full life.  He served in US Army as Corporal Ordnance Corp during WWII, then 4 years in US Navy as Petty Officer 1st class, graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science, Wasbourne Trade School for Carpenters, was a mortician, builder, salesman, served on the mission field in Congo through the Evangelical Covenant Church, and owned and operated the Grant Depot Restaurant until retirement.  Chuck was a member of 1st Covenant Church, Gideons, and numerous historical societies. 

 

Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Monday, at the McKinley Grant Chapel. A home going celebration will be held at 1st Covenant Church in Grand Rapids on Tuesday, January 27, with visitation from 10:30-11:45 AM and memorial service at 12:00.  Chuck requests in lieu of flowers contributions be made to Covenant World Missions.
