Mr. Gerhard Bol, age 85 of Grant, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Transition Health Services near Fremont. He was born Gerhard Bol in Grant, the son of Cora (Fielstra) and John Bol on February 3, 1924. He married Marjorie Abrahams on January 22, 1944 in Grant. He was a Self‑employed Vegetable Farmer for 40 years retiring in 1994. He was a member of Grant Reformed Church and was a veteran having served in the Army during World War II from April 17, 1945 to October 16, 1946 when he was discharged as a TEC 5. 

He is survived by his wife Marjorie (Abrahams) Bol, his children Beverly & Bruce Walkley, Pamela Briggs, Gary Bol all of Grant, Gloria & Tim Storm of Cedar Springs, and his grandchildren Stephen Walkley, Angela Walkley, John Kent. He was preceded in death by grandson Craig Briggs.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM from the Grant Reformed Church, on Friday, March 20, 2009 with Mr. David Koopman officiating. Interment will be in the Parkview Cemetery in Grant. Visitation will be held 2‑4 & 7‑9 PM Thursday at the Church. For Memorials please consider the Grant Reformed Church and/or Transitional Health Services.
