Hernandez – Mrs. Tomasa Leal Hernandez, aged 80, of Grant died Saturday at the of home her daughter.  She was born Tomasa Leal July 14, 1928, the daughter of Margarita (Olvera) and Pedro Leal in Edinburg, Texas.  She married Ramon Hernandez April 26, 1952 in Edinburg, Texas and he preceded her in death April 14, 1993.  Mrs. Hernandez was  a communicant of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Newaygo and the Our Lady of Guadalupe Mission near Grant.

She is survived by her children San Juana Hernandez, Pedro Hernandez, Jose Hernandez, Ricardo & Stacey Hernandez all of Grant, Jesus & Jane Hernandez of Byron Center, 10 grandchildren, her sisters & brothers Santos Leal of Grant, Dominga Contreras of McAllen, Texas, Juan & Lupita Gonzalez of Edinburg, Texas and Eusebio Gonzalez of Fremont.

A Rosary will be held 7:30 PM, Monday, March 30 at the McKinley Grant Chapel and Funeral Mass will  be held  11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 31, at the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Newaygo with Father Tom Boufford as Celebrant.  Interment will be in the St. Bartholomew Cemetery in Newaygo.  Please sign the online guest book at www.mckinleyfuneral.com.
