Mrs. Lucy May (Brant) Peck, Age 101 of Grand Rapids, formerly of Newaygo, died Tuesday, October 6, 2009 in Grand Rapids. She was born Lucy May Gilman in Freeland, Michigan the daughter of Sarah Elizabeth (Faulds) and Arthur Eugene Gilman on December 6, 1907. She married Douglas A. Brant in 1929 in Saginaw, Michigan and he preceded her in death in 1978. She then married Bill Peck in 1979 in Newaygo and he preceded her in death in 1989. She was a homemaker all her life. She was a founding member of the Sportsmans Club in Newaygo. She is survived by her grandchildren Karen & Timothy VanAntwerpen of Hudsonville, David & Martha Gabrielse of Newaygo, Douglas Gabrielse of Cedar Springs, Kevin & Candi Gabrielse of Coloma, her great grandchildren Cade & Jennifer and Tyler VanAntwerpen, Emily, Kyle, and Caitlin Gabrielse, great great grandson Maddox VanAntwerpen, her step‑daughters Barbara & Michael Moyes of Grand Ledge, Judy & Roger Wynsma of Holland, several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Charlene Gabrielse. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM from the McKinley Funeral Home Newaygo Chapel, on Thursday, October 8, 2009 with Rev.
