Eleanor M. Tjalma, aged 86 passed away Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Fountain View Retirement Village in Fremont. She was born Eleanor Mae Truman December 30, 1922 in Newaygo, the daughter of Dora Mae (Stone) and Arthur Stanley Truman. She moved to Holland and married John Tjalma in 1969 and he preceded her in death March 2, 2002 after 32 years. She was an Accountant at Holland Hitch for 25 years retiring in 1985. After John’s death she moved back to Newaygo. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newaygo.

 

She is survived by her children Nettie & Paul Smith, Bill Gonyon, Janet Malone & Mike Lantz all of Newaygo, her grandchildren Lisa & Jim Junewick of Sparta, Brian & Tabitha Smith of Mason, David Gonyon of Lowell, and her great-grandchildren Sabrina & Brysen Smith of Mason.
