Mrs. Geneva Sheldon, Age 99 of Wyoming, died Thursday, February 18, 2010 in Cedar Springs.  She was born Geneva  Backus in Grant, Michigan the daughter of Fannie (Anderson) and Charles E. Backus on May 10, 1910. She married Forest Bates on July 6, 1926 in Carson City and he preceded her in death on January, 1928.  She then married Cecil Sheldon on 1928 in St. Johns and he preceded her in death on August 8, 1965. She was a Homemaker all her life. She is survived by her son Alfred & Orpha Bates of Newaygo, 3 grandchildren, 12 great‑grandchildren, 12 great‑great‑grandchildren, Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM from the McKinley Grant Chapel, Grant on Monday, February 22, 2010 with Mr. Jim Bates officiating. Interment in Parkview Cemetery. Visitation One & a half hours prior to the service.
