Mrs. Jerlane "Bea" Schuitema, age 77 of Grant died Monday, March 1, 2010 at home. She was born Jerlane Jessie VanderWoude in Hickory Corners, Michigan the daughter of Elsie (Steimsma) and Samuel Vander Woude on March 29, 1932. She married Henry Schuitema on July 13, 1951 in Grant, and he preceded her in death on October 1, 1982. She was a Bus Driver for Grant Public Schools for 23 years until her retirement in 1993. She was a member of Grant Reformed Church.

She is survived by her daughters Linda Steensma of Wyoming, Connie & Harry Scholtens of Grant, Kristie & Allan Girardin of Wyoming, Pam & Jim Francis of Grant, her son Mike & Robin Schuitema of Newaygo, 6 grandchildren, her sister Jo & Bill Wilbur of Newaygo, her brother Al & Marilyn Vander Woude of Grant, and her sister in law Florence Vander Woude of Grant. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM from the Grant Reformed Church on Friday, March 5, 2010 with Pastor Mik Sutton officiating.  Interment in Hillside Cemetery.  Visitation 7-9 PM Thursday at the Grant Reformed Church.  In lieu of flowers please consider the Grant Reformed Church Youth Programs.
